He's A Big Kid, Now!

Haridas isn't a baby anymore! He's been working hard at potty training and weaning for the past several months. He is completely diaper-free except for night time and long car rides. He only nurses two times a day, at nap time and bed time and I plan on going down to one time a day and then to no more by April, to prevent any jealousy when the new baby arrives. Yogurt has been a happy substitute for him during this changing time. I'm so happy with how well he is transitioning from being a baby to a big kid.

Rainy Day Play

It's been raining a lot lately, so we can't go on our usual daily walk to the playground. To make sure Haridas gets his essential exercize, I turn our futon into a 'landing pad' for him to run down the hallway, jump, and land on, usually with a summersault. He has so much fun doing this and can go for a while...until he's out of breath! When we get a little break between rain showers, we go out and splash in the puddles, which he also loves.

Slideshow: Family Valentine

Here's some of my favorite pictures! I will be posting slideshows whenever we have ten nice pictures to share.

Enjoy the show!

Another Play Day!

We had another fun play day today. The kiddie pool wins the prize for the funnest shared toy. Haridas is really learning to share and wait his turn with toys. They are just so cute, I had to take some pictures! Here they are after an hour in the pool, and a half an hour in the tub. Too cute with the hooded towels!

Goodbye Morning Sickness, Hello 2nd Trimester!

This week is the beginning of the 4th month and 2nd trimester! I can't believe how fast that went! I am very thankful that there is no complications, and that I am no longer dealing with all-day-morning-sickness and the need for ginger. I definately experienced more nausea this time than with my first pregnancy. I'm also starting to show a little bit. Last time, I didn't look this big until the 5th month! Anyways, I'm most thankful that I have a good idea of what to expect this time, so instead of wondering and worrying, I can focus on praying!

It's A Golden Pig!

That's right, according to Chinese astrology, the coming Chinese Lunar New Year, which starts this Sunday, is "believed to be an especially auspicious "golden pig year" which only comes around every 60 years. South Korea is going a step further, saying it's the best time in 600 years to have a baby due to an anomaly on the Chinese calendar..."

Well, it just so happens that we're expecting a baby this year! We are very curious how this one will turn out...maybe there won't be a terrible two stage!?...or maybe labor will be easy!!!???

So, if all continues to go well, we will not know if it is a boy or a girl until the birth...but we do know one thing for sure....
...IT'S A GOLDEN PIG!

The Joy Of My Life

The joy of my life, as a mother and wife,
is to remember the Lord, as the nectar is poured
into my heart, as I play the part
of a fallen soul, trying to control
the wandering mind, to be focused and kind,
to give and recieve, keep faith and believe
that all is the will of the Lord above.
May I always remember this divine love.
This body is just a bag of bones,
I got it on loan from this Earth I call home,
but it is moved by the soul, that is eternally whole.
May I remain grateful as I play my role
in this life, so full of joy and strife,
I am so blessed to be a mother and wife,
and within my womb, another baby will come soon, in 6 more moons.
Now we give thanks and praise in all of our days,
come what may, we will always pray,
and chant the holy names, in pleasure and pain,
loss and gain, sunshine and rain.
May we remember the Lord without and within,
again and again.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I have the sweetest husband! He worked so hard all day yesterday, and then came home with a bouquet of roses and lots of chocolate, as well as a big helium balloon for Haridas! I am so thankful to be blessed with such a wonderful and thoughtful husband. I know I’m a lucky lady! Thankfully, he has most of the day off today for us to all be together. So, we are having a very Happy Valentine’s Day here! I hope everyone else is having a good one, too.

Saturday is Play Day!

We are very happy every Saturday, because two of Haridas’s friends come over to play. Little Vinodini is two months younger than Haridas, and is teaching him to be gentle with younger ones, and Shyam is 7, and is teaching Haridas how to be a nice big brother. They have so much fun, and keep each other quite entertained. All I have to do is make sure no one gets hurt, and toys are shared nicely. Haridas is really starting to understand the fun of sharing. I am very thankful for this preparation time for him to get used to life with a sibling.

The Little Weedwacker

Haridas is very serious about weedwacking. Thanks to the custom-made weedwacker by Grandpa Bill (that is just his size), Haridas helps Papa get the job done. He makes the sounds himself, and gets very serious about it. It's really cute!

Christmas Thanks!

We are so thankful to everyone who sent us wonderful Christmas gifts. Haridas is having so much fun with all of his new toys. Words cannot say how grateful we are for those who love and care for us. Thank you so much! God bless!

Row, Row, Row Your Boat

This song can have transcendental meaning. We have faith in the boat of the holy name/spirit that carries us across the waters of material suffering. The Spiritual Master or Guru is the captain, and we are the rowing oars. We keep on going merrily, and life is surely like a dream!

Welcome to my online journal!

Well, I'm am very thankful for this free blog. I look forward to using it as an online journal of our growing family, and hope to reach out to our wonderful family and friends who bless us with loving care. I hope that this can serve as a way to bring us all closer in our hearts. God bless!
